THE ICEMAN’S Throwback song of the day!

A Number One song this week in 60s/70s/80s music history, here are a few hints about the year we are going back to. The word ‘meme’ was first used by Richard Dawkins in his book The Selfish Gene, as an attempt to explain the way cultural information spreads, while accepting the Grammy for Album of the Year in 1976, Paul Simon thanked Stevie Wonder for not releasing an album that year. Wonder had won the award in the two previous years (and would win it again the year after), we were going to the movies to see Rocky, Network, The Omen & Freaky Friday. Today’s song is from 1976 and spent one week at number 1 on the Billboard Chart after only five weeks on the chart. It is the theme song of the American television sitcom #WelcomeBackKotter. Written and recorded by former Lovin’ Spoonful frontman #JohnSebastian.
